After 57 days without a drop of rain we received some wonderful showers yesterday (January 7th). The skies over the mountains grew dark and by mid-morning the rain was falling. Gently at times, coming down fairly hard at other times. It was only about 5 mm (0.2 inches) all together. It's not the rainy season but the rain is welcome anytime.
But we all enjoyed it nonetheless. Ben continued work under the shelter of the balcony. One amazing site was a stream of green butterflies moving off into the distance. They stuck around for about an hour.
They played with squeals of delight. They splashed, ran with the dog and the boys threw mud on the back of the truck. "The truck has been driving through the mud, it's got 4-wheel drive!"
