The last two days the team has made the long journey over road and mountain to Bwa Pen. There is a church there that the OPC Mission here in Haiti works with. It is a long ride but it has been worth it. Like our previous teams no one has complained about the heat, sore rears or tiredness.
Both days we have had flat tires to fix. Yesterday the tire was leaking even before we left the house. After a quick change we were on our way. Today the tire went flat again right outside the town of Cetwa, about 45 minutes away from the guest house. It takes just 10 minutes to change the tire so we were barely late.
On each of the days with started with about 20 kids. But by the end of the first hour we had 50 to 60 at Bwa Pen. We are thankful to God for each one of the kids who came.
Each day we began with an introduction and some singing. Many of the songs would be familiar to you, though in a different language. "Deep and wide", "Jesus loves the little children", "The B-I-B-L-E" and others. Following the singing we had a lesson on the children's catechism. Then time for crafts, games and a snack of bread with peanut butter. The team did a great job of communicating the message of the gospel with great energy!
Below are some other sights from the days at Bwa Pen which was followed by an even bigger group of almost 100 kids at Nan Kafe. A beautiful view, some fun games, busy kids and dirty feet. God is good.
