Pray for Haiti 2009.18

Dear Friends,

Our whole family here in Haiti want to say thank you for praying for us.  We serve a God who not only hears the prayers of his people but also answers them according to his bountiful love.  We are grateful that you take our prayer requests and bring them before the throne of grace on a regular basis.  Thank you!

There is always lots to report and much we are thankful for.  Here are some things to remember as you pray:

Health - continue to pray for our health.  Heather has been suffering some back pain lately and then was ill with severe stomach upset this past weekend.  It is hard to keep up with busy children when you are not feeling 100%.  Plus Ben was gone to Lagonav this weekend.
Encouragement - we are encouraged by the ministry God is giving us.  At the same time, we desire to bring the encouragement of the Scriptures to people like Cenet, the Lagonav church leader who recently lost his wife.  They are all suffering so please pray for Cenet and his 5 children.
Spiritual Growth - Ben just returned from 4 days on Lagonav with two brothers from the US who helped with a teaching seminar on preaching.  We give thanks for the continued eagerness to learn.  Pray that the church leaders would be able to effectively exhort their congregations to greater love for Christ.
Time - there is so much to do and seemingly so little time.  Please pray that we would make good use of our time: Heather as she homeschools the kids and takes care of the home, Ben as he preaches, prepares lectures for the seminary classes in Port-au-Prince and travels to Lagonav.
Church Growth - we recognize that growth of the church in Haiti comes both in numbers and in quality.  We particularly desire the spiritual growth of the church leaders.  Please pray for the men in the first class of the seminary  Academie Theologique de l'Alliance in Port-au-Prince.  Also pray for our church leaders on Lagonav who lead, teach and pray with our churches from week to week.
Teams - we are very grateful for the fellowship with several small teams who have been here recently.  Lift up the preparations for a team from OPC churches in Florida who will arrive late December to do Vacation Bible Schools programs at two Lagonav churches.

In Christ's Service,

Ben (for all of us)
