Our family has arrived in southern California. We are here doing a two-week tour of churches in the Los Angeles and San Diego areas. We arrived Friday with a stopover in Houston. We are very thankful that our kids travel well. Esther slept most of the time in the air. She got a chance to stretch her legs for a few hours in Houston and by mid-afternoon we were in San Diego. We even got to see footage of the last Space Shuttle blastoff from the home of Mission Control - Houston, TX.
We are staying the home of a very gracious family in the hills outside San Diego. From here all the churches are within driving distance as we visit to tell people about Haiti. The kids have the chance to run around a big property, kick the soccer ball and pick fruit from the trees scattered around the acreage. There is a horse farm next door and lots of other animals to see.
On Saturday we were hosted by the Pirschel's for a Team Haiti 2011 reunion. All but one of the team members was able to make it and she was from Hawaii! We enjoyed good food, swimming and some games of Kemp. It was the team's favorite in Haiti and they are still enjoying the old rivalries. Now everyone is looking forward to Team Haiti 2012.
