First truck to Doglas

IMG_9889 Along with the guys from Covenant OPC in Reading, PA, I had the chance to be part of another first on the island of Lagonav.  On our way to worship this morning we were on the first pickup to use the road that now runs right up to the church at Doglas.

When Heather and I first visited the church in November of 2006 we had to walk about 25 minutes to get there.  I last visited a couple months ago and only had to walk 10 minutes as the road was partly completed.  But today the pickup truck made it all the way on the recently completed road.

Doglas church through entrance The church family at Doglas took pride in their work over the last year or so.  One older gentleman in the congregation, brother Marcel, said he was happy now because he saw the road completed before he died.

Pastor Wendell Stolzfus preached a wonderful message on God's grace from 2 Samuel 9.  Pastor Lexene served as interpreter.  Following the service we greeted everyone, went back to Fifi's for lunch and then were off to Gran Lagon for the afternoon service.  A good Lord's Day overall.  The Lord does indeed make the rough places smooth.
