"But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine." (Titus 2:1) Early Monday morning I returned from Lagonav after spending 6 days on the island. Two brothers from our Foreign Missions office in the States came for a visit and to help with the teaching.
We spent two days on the road visiting churches in the countryside of Lagonav. The roads were horrible but the fellowship was wonderful. It is always a joy to introduce folks to the leaders and church members of Lagonav. We wound our way through Nan Kafe, Bwa Pen, Nan Mangot and Gran Lagon.![]()
For a day and a half we taught on the subject of worship, taking our queue from the Directory of Public Worship of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. The teaching, well rooted in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments was well received. We are thankful that we can be a part of building the kingdom of God through the teaching of leaders in the Haitian church.
I taught a section introducing the topic and then focusing on the public reading of Scripture and the sermon. Douglas followed with teaching on the salutation/benediction as well as prayer. Mark finished up with a session on song in worship and the offering.
Please continue to pray for the churches and church leaders on Lagonav. Pray for their growth in both the grace and knowledge of their Savior. Pray for them as they deal with the many needs in their respective churches. Do also pray that God would provide for the daily bread of each family even as their feed on Jesus, the Bread of Life. Pray for great wisdom for me as I work with these churches and their leaders.![]()
