Team Haiti 2010: Doglas

IMG_4922 The final Vacation Bible School for Team Haiti this year was held at Doglas.  The team also worshipped there this past Sunday.  The final VBS had less kids and many of them were younger than the previous average.  It was definitely more relaxing and gave everyone a chance to interact with the kids more intimately.

Audience laughing at Doglas The church in Doglas is the closest one to the town of Ansagale.  I was remembering when we first visited the church in November 2006.  We drove about 45 minutes out of town and then had to walk the last 20-25 minutes to get to the church.  The people of the church have been faithfully working on the road.  We made the trip all the way to the location in about 35 minutes from the guest house.  Wow!

Fre Elissaint from Doglas Many of you know Pastor Lexene who has pastored the church for the past 10 years.  Brother Elissaint is a faithful elder in training.  He and his family attend the church and he helps by teaching Sunday School and in the service.  Elissaint is always in attendance at our training seminars for the church leaders.  Pray for him and that God might continue to grow into the leader God wants him to be.  The church at Doglas is in good hands.

IMG_4926 Our trip is over and we are now back on the mainland.  Everyone enjoyed the trip back on the W.I.S.H. Fish.  Butch Alexander brought us back on his speedboat.  The water was calm and the trip quick.  We even saw some kind of dolphins or pilot whales.  Home tomorrow after a great trip.  God has been good.
