While I did get to Lagonav this past weekend to visit churches, our efforts this first six weeks is the renovations on our family home at Kaliko. We are adding bedrooms for the kids and making space for sleeping accommodations of visiting teams.
We were very grateful to have Lloyd and Mike join us this past week to scope out the jobs. We made a couple trips to Port-au-Prince to look at materials and spent many hours brainstorming. Mike did a great job of putting together preliminary plans of the addition that will go on top of our current guest room. We are sad to lose the big back deck but it will be worth it.
Our constructions teams will begin to arrive in a couple weeks. There is lots to do, many people to check in with and much material to buy. While we have done plenty of construction on Lagonav, getting to know the local construction folks has been a real learning experience. Lord willing by the end of April things will look a lot different.
