Blessings on your Lord's Day from Anse-a-Galets, Haiti. I was thankful for a good rest. It is hot but your body adjusts pretty quickly to the heat and humidity. The only problem is there is not much air circulation so the cool nighttime air doesn't always get inside.
We woke up to be on the road by 8:00AM for the church at Gran Lagon. Breakfast included orange juice with coconut milk, fresh baguette with Laughing Cow cheese and mango. Can't be beat. Fifi's food is always good.
We spent an hour in the back of the pickup driving through Zetwa, the only town on La Gonave with road signs. Only place where I have never had to stop for a STOP sign. Lots of kids there for worship at Gran Lagon. We enjoyed singing, praying and I preached on 1 Corinthians 1:1-3. The kids class gave us a rendition of a song on Jonah and whale, recited the books of the Bible and the sons of Jacob.
We are currently relaxing in the courtyard of Fifi's guest house. A funeral procession went by a minute ago. Reminds one of the fleeting nature of life and the reality of life/death that Haitians deal with each day. About 600-700 marched by along with a band playing a hymn. Continue to pray that as we visit and minister to people we would bring the eternal hope that comes only through faith in Jesus Christ.
