Watching the weather is always interesting. And in the age of the Internet and satellites constantly orbiting the earth, we can watch from a distance. This image is a satellite composite taken on August 14 at about 5:35PM. You can check out the following link for an updated image. You can see a possible tropical cyclone forming to the east of Puerto Rico. We will have to watch this one.
Here is another image from the GOES satellite, which is a geostationary satellite that images the western Atlantic Ocean. Here you can see an infrared image, which highlights the tops of the large cloud formations. The image was taken by the satellite at 6:15PM local time in Haiti. Again, see the characteristic shape of the developing tropical cyclone.
