Just a quick update on the situation with Charles Amicy and the compound down in Cabaret. We ventured out this afternoon to see if we could get through to Mission Presbyterienne d'Haiti. The roads were OK, but nearer the area of Charles compound there was extensive damage from what had obviously been a lot of water. Lots of mud, damaged walls, some buildings down.
We could not drive into the compound. The photo to the left shows the road that leads off the main highway. There usually is a road there. We spoke to some folks who had just come out on foot, wading through 3-4 feet of water. Things are bad.
But, we are thankful to report that Charles is safe in Port-au-Prince. He was able to get out earlier in the day and is now back with his family. Continue to lift up the saints in that area and all those involved with the relief efforts.
