Medical help on Lagonav

The last few days has been very exciting as we hosted our first medical team on Lagonav.  Our good friends Randy & Karen Lodder from Port-au-Prince had a team of nurses visiting from Canada.  They agreed to come to Lagonav to do two clinics along with Dr. Ed Amos.  The trip was due to begin Monday, travel to Gran Lagon Tuesday, Doglas on Wednesday and then come home Thursday.  Warnings from the marine department in Haiti of high winds was supposed to keep the boats from running Sunday and Monday.

So after a false start we ended up on the island Tuesday afternoon.  The boat ride was smooth and everyone enjoyed their time in the sun.  The team totaled 14 - 7 nurses, 1 doctor, 4 interpreters, 1 cook and my sister Leah along to see Lagonav.  We had three trucks to haul our team plus the medications to the guest house and then the church in Doglas.

The leaders of the church in Doglas along with Pastor Lexene organized the devotions and singing for those waiting outside.  They helped with crowd control and at the end of the day our intrepid medical professionals had seen exactly 200 patients.  We pray God would bless their work, heal bodies and continue to draw people unto himself through our efforts.  More pictures of the time below.

The team also enjoyed some time for beach volleyball and then lunch before they headed back to Port-au-Prince.
