Our new Lagonav wheels

OPC Kawasaki Mule - front1 It is finally on it's way.  Thanks for a kind donation of a family from an OPC church in California along with many generous donors who are helping with shipping cost, the Kawasaki Mule is on it's way to Haiti.  We are very excited about this ATV that has been in the works for over 6 months now.

IMG_7186One of the biggest costs surrounding ministry on Lagonav is transportation.  It works well to hire trucks when I have a larger team, but the cost is very high to just get me around the island to the various churches.  So I went looking for an All Terrain Vehicle (ATC) that would work.

OPC Kawasaki Mule - rear1 First stop was a Polaris dealer in Pennsylvania on a trip last summer.  We saw some vehicles that seemed like they would work.  Then we got word of a 1997 Kawasaki Mule that an OPC church member wanted to donate to one of the foreign mission fields.  The fit was right.  If you want to check out the specs it is a Kawasaki Mule 4010 Trans 4x4 Diesel.

Road to the coast from Nan Kafe Some guys from the presbytery of Southern California coordinated with friends in Florida to get the vehicle shipped.  They outfitted it with a lift kit and better tires.  It even has stickers that say Mission OPC.  Please pray that the shipping will happen without mishap.  Once it gets to Haiti the potential problems are not over.  Pray that customs would go smoothly and that I would be able to coordinate getting it to the island without mishap.  As you can see from the shot below, we really need something like this for the Lagonav roads.  Who knows, maybe one day soon you will join me in the co-pilot's seat for a trip to one of the churches.

Great to hear that everything is coming through with the transportation. It looks like it will be a great addition for Lagonav. Hope to be back there again soon to try it out.
