Fun at Oma & Opa’s

IMG_8310 Our first stop on vacation has been Ben’s parents in Ottawa, Ontario.  To the kids they are Oma and Opa.  We thought we would share some pics of the fun things we have been doing while here.  Spring is definitely here and so are the spring showers.  But it has kept us from enjoying things both inside and outdoors.

Everyone enjoy hanging out in Oma’s Lay-Z-Boy.  Elijah says hi from Ottawa, Ontario.

Spring has sprung.  The Tulip Festival is in full swing as this photo shows.

The park near Oma and Opa’s is the park.  Emma is pretty brave climbing overhead Oma with the camera.

Everyone is coming down the slide!

We can believe it but this May we celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary.  We got to spend a night away at a hotel in downtown Ottawa.  This is our view from the 22nd floor overlooking Parliament Hill and the famous Chateau Laurier hotel.

And here is our self portrait with Parliament Hill in the background.

We also went with the kids to the Science Museum.  Elijah loved the real trains inside.  That is one big wheel.

Being with Oma and Opa also means lots of good food.  We celebrated Ethan’s birthday early with a fun strawberry cake.

Even though the temps have been cool the kids want to be outside.  Here they are playing in the field behind Oma and Opa’s.  They are pulling out grass and transporting it around.  They love being creative.

And everyone even got to play on the beach down on the Ottawa River!
