Another prayer request for you who read our blog and keep up with events here in Haiti. Once again we have elections coming up on Sunday (June 21). For 11 of the 12 seats there were runoff elections needed. And even though external observers encouraged Haiti to hold off on these runoffs they are going ahead.
Word is there will be some unrest again. This time they are allowing vehicles on the road. We will stay close to home for church this Sunday as we don’t want to be near polling stations. There have also been ongoing student demonstrations in downtown Port-au-Prince, so tensions are once again higher than usual.
Pray that violence on Sunday would not non-existent. Pray that calm would prevail and the elections would go smoothly. And continue to pray that we would be able to take the gospel to our small circle of friends and neighbors. We feel safe and know we are safely in God’s hands.
