Hopps home in Haiti

Wow!  What a couple of days it has been.  Saying goodbye, packing, taking care of last minute details, lots of flying and finally arriving home in Haiti.  We pulled into our driveway here at Kaliko around 6PM Haiti time after a long day (Oct 7th) for all of us.  But we give thanks that God gave us strength and very evident traveling mercies so we can now say our whole family is back on the field!

IMG_5884 Ben was driven by a deacon friend to Fort Pierce yesterday with our dog Thai and a few boxes of stuff.  An early morning had him on a Missionary Flights DC-3 bound for Haiti.  But the 6-hour trip had stops in Grand Exuma in the Bahamas, Cap Haitien in the north of Haiti and finally Port-au-Prince.  It was a beautiful day for flying and even Thai did great.

Family exiting PAP airport_1 Heather and the kids spent an overnight with friends in Tampa after finishing packing up belongings at our rental home.  They went to the airport and everyone including Esther made their way to Miami and then Port-au-Prince.  Ben was able to meet them at the airport after dropping off Thai and the boxes at Kaliko.  The reunion was a joyous one!

Thank you to all who prayed.  The flights went well, all the details clicked and the kids did great.  We are so thankful God enabled them to let their lights shine as they traveled.  Tomorrow we start the unpacking.  Pray for our adjustment back to the field.  Pray for the ongoing ministry both on Lagonav and in Port-au-Prince.  God is good!
