T+7 Back in the capital

We are thankful that the ferry did leave La Gonave yesterday morning. We got up at 4:30AM, were down at the dock by 5:15AM and got our seats onboard. A fairly large crowd had gathered. The police were also present with their shotguns and rifles, presumably for crowd control. They came onboard the ferry to count how many people were seated. At one point people started to stand up and it looked like we might have a repeat of the day before when everyone was told to get off and the ferry didn't run. Josue picked us up at the dock on the mainland, we visited Wilson at the house in Kaliko and stopped by the Mission to Haiti compound in Cabarets to visit with Pastor Charles Amicy. We are looking forward to working with this brother in the training of men for leadership in the church.

The city of Port-au-Prince was bustling once again. There are always people and cars around. We both did comment that traffic is lighter than we are used to. Douglas Clawson said the trip from the ferry at Carrieres down to the Visa Lodge was the fastest he had ever done.
