T+8/9 Port-au-Prince stay

It been a couple of relatively quiet days here in Port-au-Prince. Douglas Clawson and I both got hit by some kind of gastro-intestinal trouble yesterday. We are thankful it did not get us while we were on the island. On the Cipro and that has taken care of it. I am feeling a little weak today but otherwise fine.

We met Randy & Karen Lodder on Saturday. They are a young couple from Canada who are down here helping with a ministry called Coram Deo. This is a joint venture between the Canadian Reformed Church and the United Reformed Church. They have a school, guest house and also house handicapped children from Port-au-Prince. Randy and Karen have been here for 7 weeks. They picked us up and we went to the Caribbean Market, saw the Coram Deo grounds and came back to the Visa Lodge for lunch.

This Lord's Day we had an opportunity to worship with Pastor Johannes Bazelais and the folks at the church associated with the OPC here in Port. The service began at 8:30AM. This was a blessing as it was not too hot yet. Today it has gotten very hot and humid again. We sang in both Kreyol and French. Through our interpreter Junior I was able to bring the message from 1 Corinthians 1:1-3. Approximately 70 brothers and sisters worshipped with us. We are resting now the remainder of our Lord's Day, will take care of some business on Monday and fly back on Tuesday. Pray for a good remainder of the trip. Looking forward to seeing my family again.
