Pray for Haiti 2009.16

Thanks for continuing to read and pray as we share with you the various prayers requests from the field in Haiti.  I just returned this morning from another weekend trip to the churches of Lagonav.
Saturday was a beautiful day to be out on the ocean - calm, sunny though very warm too.  Sunday I attended services and preached at Nan Kafe and Bwa Pen, both up in the mountains inland on the island.  It was slightly cooler but it only made the afternoon decent into the heat and humidity that much harder to take.
I thought it would be beneficial to put before you again the churches on the island and our joint church plant in Port-au-Prince.  Continue to lift up the brothers and sisters before the throne of grace.
1. Nan Kafe - pray this church would find content even though they have experienced the death of their longtime pastor in June.  Pray God would find them a pastor who would be willing to go and minister to these dear people.
2. Bwa Pen - we ask for wisdom as we seek leaders for this and each of the other churches who are qualified and desire to serve God's people.
3. Lapye - pray for many who were sick on my last visit to the churches.  Pray that they will be healed so they can continue to attend the services of worship each Sunday.
4. Plenn Mapou - please lift up the teachers and students at the Plenn Mapou school that they would learn of Christ as goal of all of life.
5. Nan Mango - ask that God would give a desire to this congregation to expand their numbers by reaching out to their neighbors and nearby communities.  Pray for one of the leaders brother Maxime who has endured much hardship this year.
6. Doglas - pray for Pastor Lexene as he leads his people in worship each Sunday
7. Gran Lagon - lift up these saints who worship faithfully in an are infested with mosquitoes and therefore encounter many cases of malaria and Dengue fever, particularly among the children.
8. Port-au-Prince - give thanks for the faithful labors of pastors Octavius Defils and Leon Amicy as they work through the Westminster Shorter Catechism with the congregation and instruct potential new members.
The Hopps continue healthy and happy.  We are grateful for God's sustaining hand on us.
