I just received news yesterday that the wife of one of the church leaders in Gran Lagon died. Cenet has been a faithful leader in the church for several years. His wife had been sick for over a year and he spent all he had trying to find relief. Many prayed as well.
This sad situation highlights the sorry state of medical care in Haiti. While there are some good hospitals in places like Port-au-Prince, many of the care facilities are only out to make money. Surgeons promise relief with the money up front. Families spend all they have and no solution, no relief. It is a challenging situation because you want to help but also don’t want to waste money on needless operations that will not help. Again we turn to the God who heals for ultimately everything is in his hands.
Please pray for Cenet and his five children. They are as you can imagine devastated by the loss of their mother and wife. Pray that the church would gather around to support them. The funeral is scheduled for Sunday or Monday. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
