Pray for Haiti 2010.3

Tampa Int'l Airport

As I leave for Haiti today, I wanted to send a quick prayer update as well as some ongoing requests. Thank you for continuing to ask the God of heaven and earth to be at work in the hearts and minds of the Haitian people. We know our labor is not in vain and that it cannot be done without the prayers of god's people.

I will arrive in Port-au-Prince shortly after a team coming in from Maine and Michigan. This is a work team that was planned back last fall. We will be doing construction on the guest house, counseling training for the Lagonav church leaders and some work in Port-au-Prince. Pray for our travels to and from Lagonav as well as safety on the road. We give thanks for all the folks who have volunteered to come and help in the work.

Keep praying for Heather and the kids. While we have adjusted some to the schedule of separation/reunion it is never easy. Pray for the ongoing schooling. We give thanks for the good health of Heather and the baby. We also praise the Lord for the good attitude the kids have had about school.

Whlie we do lots of work we are also able to take time off as a family. The pictures in this e-mail come from a day trip to Emerson Point. The weather has finally turned warm in Florida. The kids have been busy with soccer and baseball. Emma is also learning a little tennis on the side.

As you can see the dog Thai is doing well too. I do miss her when I am in Haiti though. Security has been fine but having our "early warning system" for people walking by our yard is a real blessing.

We continue to give thanks for the generosity of many who have contributed to the OPC Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund. These funds are distributed through our mission on the ground to benefit the folks in the churches we work with. There are several construction projects in the works that will include getting worship going again in Port-au-Prince and providing shelter for others.

If you would like to contribute you can send a check made out to the Orthodox Presbyterian Church with "Haiti Earthquake Relief" in the memo line to:

Thanks for lifting us up before the throne of grace. God is good.
