Water fun with the Grandparents

Family outing to aquarium with opa and oma Since last Thursday we have enjoyed the company of Ben’s parents here at our home in Florida.  On Friday we decided to take a trip into Tampa  and see the Florida Aquarium again.  Even though the kids had been there before there was still a lot more to see.  The variety in God’s creation was amazing.

IMG_3657 The kids were also excited because this time the water park was open.  We took along bathing suits as the day was warm.  They had fun scurrying around the pirate ship and shooting each other with the water cannons.  A great way to cool off.
IMG_3653 Inside the aquarium we got to touch rays (with the stinger trimmed of course!), watch the little penguins walk around and check out the divers in the shark tank.  Pretty cool stuff.  I think my favorite creature was these little fish that had eyes like tin foil.  We also saw barracuda, sea turtles, the big old Goliath grouper and some very large moray eels.

IMG_3706 Saturday the kids played soccer and then we headed off to the beach.  It was a really windy day so the waves were crashing onto the beach.  We don’t get big rollers like this in Haiti.  The kids had to hold on tight.  You started playing the waves parallel with our beach chairs and pretty soon you were half way down the beach as the waves dragged you.  After all this activity we really will need our day of rest.  Everyone is sleeping well!
