UPDATE: Not taking on Dean

It is now 9PM Haiti time on Friday night.  Our planned trip to Lagonav to visit the churches is now on hold until next weekend.  We had spent the day talking with various folks, praying, looking for wisdom as to what we should do.

Hurricane Dean is bearing down on the south of Haiti and we decided it would not be prudent to travel to the island with potentially torrential rains and high winds.  And in God's providence, just after arriving home from Port-au-Prince, with the decision already made, we found out the Haitian government had suspended all boat travel until Monday.  God is good.

So while we are disappointed that we will not be able to visit with the brothers and sisters on Lagonav, we are grateful for our Savior's guiding hand.  We are safe here in our little house in Kaliko.  We will keep you updated as we are able.
