UPDATE2: Dean has passed

Thought you might like to know how we fared as Dean passed Haiti on Saturday night and Sunday.  Here at the house in Kaliko it was something of an anti-climax.  I expected to be woken in the night with strong winds and pelting rain.  Nothing until Sunday morning.  We had a little bit of wind and some relatively light rain.  We have had thunderstorms with more rain and wind.

There is some news coming out of the southern peninsula of at least two deaths and destruction of homes.  The hurricane would have hit hardest here with a storm surge, torrential rains and wind.  It takes a while for news to travel but here north of Port-au-Prince life is back to normal.  Thanks for praying!

Psalm 57:1 "Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by."

And speaking of God's providence, check this article of a miraculous escape.
