We will have arrived

On Saturday our family will make our first trip together to the island of Lagonav. So in some sense we will have arrived at our final destination. We are excited about this opportunity to meet with the brothers and sisters of the churches there. The picture shows the view from our balcony here in Kaliko. And this has been our view of Lagonav until now. Saturday we arrive.

Please pray for the many details of the trip. We will visit some of the churches Saturday, I will preach twice in Nan Kafe on Sunday (EDIT: Heather pointed out to me the humor in the fact that one of the sermons I plan on preaching is from Mark 4 where Jesus calms the storm!) and then we travel back by ferry early on Monday morning. Pray for our dog Thai who we have to take along. Pray for safety on the ferry and driving on the byways of the island. Pray especially for the kids - everything will be new - sights, sounds, food, people.

And finally pray for Dean. He has now officially been classified a hurricane and is potentially bearing down on Haiti. This is our first experience with warnings, checking, wondering, praying. Check this National Hurricane Center link for updated information. Not due until Sunday but we want the trip to go forward without hitches. Everything is in God's hands we know. Bondye bon (God is good).
