Today both Elijah and I got a wonderful chance to see a small corner of Wisconsin from the air. One of the elders at the Oostburg church has a Vans RV-4 homebuilt airplane. It was a beautiful Saturday morning for a flight to sightsee in the area.
The farmers are just beginning to plow and plant. Lake Michigan is blue and the waves were small today. The sky was clear and with little convective activity it was a smooth ride. No better time to take to the air and see Wiconsin from the air.
Elijah got the first ride. They streaked down the grass strip and were airborne. Linc said he talked non-stop. Elijah must have enjoyed the ride. The went as far north as Sheboygan and spent some time over the lake counting sailboats. He said it was fun to see how small everything looked from the air. Heather heard them flying over the house but couldn’t make it outside in time to wave.
My turn was next. We flew over the house of our hosts the Joosse’s. These pictures were taken circling over the house. I got a chance to take the controls for a while as we toured the county. It was a fun way to start a relaxing Memorial Day weekend. I preach and present the work at two churches tomorrow and we head home Monday.
