Our team from the Presbytery of Southern California arrived in Haiti yesterday to another hot and sunny day. This group of 11 comes from OPC churches in California, Arizona and North Carolina. The team leaves today for Lagonav to do mini Vacation Bible Schools for young children at 3 of the churches we work with on the island. It is always an adventure.
Somehow one team members bags got left by the airline at her origin of Charlotte, NC. She arrived safely in Port along with all the other team members and bags, but her two didn't make it. It means the team is heading over to the island as planned while Ben travels to Port-au-Prince to find the missing bags. Heather has really gone above and beyond the call of duty in taking the team as well as the three kids over on her own. Ben will follow early tomorrow morning on the flyboat. The picture to the left shows the team on the Vierge Caridad, the ferry boat that will take them to Lagonav.![]()
It is always an adventure. But God continues to encourage and guide. The team will prepare the guest house for their week long stay as well as get prepared for the Bible School programs that begin at the church in Doglas tomorrow.
I will try to give daily updates on the work. I will not be able to post them daily, however, as Internet is somewhat limited on the island. Keep checking back for updates and pictures.
