The last two days have been spent at the church in Plenn Mapou. Each day the team has left Ansagale and arrived there about 3 hours later. It is a long and grueling ride. The sights are beautiful - mountains, red soil, flowering trees and fields full of corn, peanuts and conga beans. The harvest is not here yet, but the hope is there.
Who made you? The answer is God or Bondye in Creole. The Bible school program has focused on the first 6 questions of the Children's Catechism in Creole. It is a wonderful thing to hear the kids recite the answers with great gusto. They know the answers and they love to shout them out. Team Haiti has done a great job instructing the children through our interpreters Max and Jean Bena. The crafts and games are a big hit too. The game "Duck, Duck, Goose" now has a Haitian equivalent. It is called "Bef, Bef, Bourik" translated as cow, cow, donkey. It a great contextualization and everyone has a good time, including the adults who watch.
Below is a slideshow of our Tuesday at Plenn Mapou. Though everyone has had a great time we are glad the driving is over. Tomorrow it is back to Kaliko for a day of R&R before heading home. God is good!
